MORNING WORSHIP - NOVEMBER 13, 2021

This Sunday, in continuing our highlight of National Adoption Month - November, Rev. Rick Carder, Director of Church Engagement/Foster Care of White's Family Services, will be with us to provide more information from the Scriptures about how Christians are called to  help children in need.  God Himself is the "father of the fatherless" (Psalm 68:5) and He "supports the fatherless and the widow" (Psalm 146:9).  God, through His Son Jesus, is the supreme example we are to follow each day.  When God saved us, He put His Light within each of us.  Matthew 5:16 tells us:  "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven".

Come and see how you can make a difference in the life of a child, whether it be through adoption, becoming foster parents, or engaging in other ministries that bring God's love to children.  Everyone is welcome!!!

MORNING WORSHIP - OCTOBER 24TH & 31ST

Over the next two Sundays, October 24th and 31st, Pastor Brian Pinson will be delivering the inspiring message, "The Victory of All Victories!", using the text in 1 Corinthians 15:50-58.  In a world full of chaos and uncertainties, all born-again Christians have an assured hope for the victorious resurrection we will share with Christ Jesus when He returns for us!!  This promise serves to bring us joy in acticipation of that great day when we will be joined with Him for all eternity!

This truth motivates us to pursue our work in God's kingdom, sharing the love of God through spreading the Gospel message to all who will listen.  This promise enables us to put life's circumstances -- good and bad -- into perspective so that as sojourners on this earth, our spiritual eyes can continue to look to the skies with expectation of our Lord's return!

Please join us in person or online to hear this beautiful and powerful message -- everyone is welcome!!!

MORNING WORSHIP - OCTOBER 17, 2021

This week, Pastor Brian Pinson will be turning us the Book of Revelation.  In Chapter 2:1-7, we read of the divinely-inspired letter to the church at Ephesus.  The message in this letter is still relevant to us today.  The Ephesians were very diligent in their work for God, but Verse 4 says that they had lost their first love ... their love for God.  It is easy to get so caught up in our "works" for God that we can lose sight of protecting and pursuing our "love for and relationship with God".  In Matthew 22, Jesus tells us that we are to love the Lord thy God with ALL our heart, ALL our soul, and ALL our mind.  Our love and devotion for God must come first!  When we have that kind of love for Him,  the work that we do in His kingdom will again be motivated by our love for Jesus Christ, our Savior, and what He did for us.

We invite you to join us as we hear more about this vital passage of Scripture.  The service begins at 10:30 a.m., and everyone is welcome!!

PASTOR APPRECIATION SUNDAY - OCTOBER 10, 2021

This Sunday is Pastor Appreciation Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church.  This special service allows the Staff and Congregation an opportunity to express their love and appreciation to our Senior Pastor Brian Pinson and to our Associate Pastor Craig Ison for all of the hard work they do for our church.  A pastor has a huge responsibility, and an accountability to God, to lead the members into all truth, using the infallible Word of God.  Many hours of study and prayer are necessary to prepare a sermon or a Bible study lesson that is going to align with what the Lord knows we need to hear.  God knows what we need, and He uses the gifts of our Pastors and other leaders to meet those needs.  Preaching/teaching is just one of the duties of a Pastor ... so, please take the time to express your appreciation, support, and encouragement to our Pastors whenever you have an opportunity as they diligently pursue their calling in the Lord's work for His glory.

Everyone is welcome - especially members - to join us this Sunday for worship service and some special activities.  Children's Church will also be available.  Please remember to pray for all of our church leaders and members that we will continue to grow as disciples of Christ and as witnesses of His Gospel Message.  All of the glory belongs to Him alone!!

WORSHIP SERVICE - OCTOBER 3, 2021

This coming Sunday, October 3, Associate Pastor Craig Ison will complete his 8-session sermon series "The Road to Recovery".  This week's focus will be on Step 8 - Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others by both my example and my words.  Two primary topics in this sermon are:  "Why has God allowed my pain?" and "How can God use my pain to help others?"  God never wastes a hurt - only He can turn your test into a testimony!!!  Your story is unique - and only you can tell it to others to spread the Gospel of Salvation by the blood of Jesus Christ -- it's all about HIM!!!

Please join us, either in person or online, to hear this potentially life-changing message!  The choice is up to you!  Everyone is welcome!!!

WORSHIP SERVICE - SEPTEMBER 26, 2021

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will preach the second and final sermon in the series "Living in Light of the End", which is based from 1 Peter 4:7-11.  In this passage, the Apostle Peter was moved by the Holy Spirit to address the early Church that was facing severe persecution.  Instead of expressing sympathy, Peter uses the persecution and trials in their lives to cast light upon the greater truths of the Christian faith!  This message still holds true today!!

* There is something greater than this perishing world.
* This world is not our permanent dwelling place.
* Our future in Christ has been signedsealed, and delivered.

In anticipation of our Savior's return, there are three priorities that should be evident in a Christian's life, especially now:

1 - We are to be clear-headed and disciplined!
2 - We are to be filled with love!
3 - We are to be intensified to serve!

Please join us to hear more details about how we are to "go about our Father's business" as we await His return!  Everyone is welcome!

Sunday Service - September 12, 2021

This Sunday, September 12, Pastor Brian Pinson will be delivering the message "Living in Light of the End" from 1 Peter 4:7-11.  Part I of this two-part sermon series will focus on developing a prayer life that is God-honoring and effective, anticipating Christ's return.  This text provides Biblical truths on how we can prepare ourselves for Christ's return and how we are to live our lives in a fallen world until He does return.

Our main purpose is to bring Him honor and glory and to spread the message of the Gospel to those who need salvation.  Please join us in person or online to hear this heart-stirring and thought-provoking message ... there is still much we can do to further His kingdom!!  Everyone is welcome!!

SUNDAY SERVICE - SEPTEMBER 5, 2021

This Sunday, September 5, Associate Pastor Craig Ison will be delivering Part 6 of The Road to Recovery.  The sermon, "Repairing Relationships", focuses on Biblical ways to restore relationships - from harm done to us and for harm we have done to others.  God tells us in Ephesians 4:31-32: "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger along with every form of maice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you."

Our great God knew that in the flesh we would be hurt and hurt others.  However, God's specific command leaves no room to speculate on what He wants us to do to mend our relationships.  It is not easy - but it is possible through Jesus Christ.  We invite everyone to come and hear this very relevant message on our great need for God's forgiveness continually and our need to forgive others by the help of the Holy Spirit.  Everyone is welcome!!

SUNDAY - THE LORD'S SUPPER - AUGUST 29

Next Sunday, August 29th, Pastor Brian Pinson will lead the Communion Service.  Pastor Brian will present the message, which encourages listeners to pause and pray before partaking in the Lord's Supper.  Personal reflection is encouraged by God in Colossians 3:12-14 and helps us to focus our hearts and minds on the holiness of Jesus, our Savior, before taking Communion.

Colossians 3:12-14
12 Therefore, God's chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
13 accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also you must [forgive].
14 Above all, [put on] love-the perfect bond of unity.

Be in prayer this week for this special service.  Our life in Jesus Christ offers love, hope, and restoration for eternity!  If you do not know Him, now is the time!  Everyone is welcome!!!

If you were unable to be here in person or view the service online yesterday, please take time to visit our Facebook page to view the video.  The message delivered by Associate Pastor Craig Ison, entitled "Making Changes" outlined how God can help you make positive changes in your life when you come to Him willingly and with an earnest desire to accept His will in your life.  It will be well worth the time to watch!!!

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE - AUGUST 15, 2021

Are you feeling anxious or worried about the current state of affairs within our world?  If we're honest, many of us, Christian and unbeliever alike, struggle with worry and/or anxiety.  This topic is not only a frequent topic in today's world, but it was a common theme in Jesus' teaching as well.  It's all about where we place our trust ... and God's Word gives us specific guidance.

This coming Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will be delivering the message "The Sin of Worry" from the Scriptures found in Luke - Chapter 12.  God knows that we will face challenges and uncertainties that could cause us to feel anxious or become worried, but with the power of God's Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can learn how to increase Christ in our lives, leaving less room for anxiety and worry to creep in.

Please join us this Sunday, either in person or online, to hear this powerful message!  Everyone is welcome!

Sunday Worship Service - August 8th

This coming Sunday, Associate Pastor Craig Ison will continue the sermon series "The Road to Recovery".   This week's sermon, "Coming Clean",  teaches us how to learn to live guilt free, the way God wants us to live.  We have all made mistakes and have regrets.  We carry around guilt about things in our past, but God has mapped out in His Word how we can, through the power of the Holy Spirit, let go of that guilt.  Come and hear from the Scriptures how God can continue to transform our lives if we are willing to be obedient to His Word!

We invite you to hear this vital message and find out how to break free from the chains of guilt.  Everyone is welcome!

Psalm 32:1-5
How blessed is he whose wrongdoing is forgiven, Whose sin is covered!  How blessed is a person whose guilt the Lord does not take into account, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!  When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.  For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality failed as with the dry heat of summer.  Selah

I acknowledged my sin to You, And I did not hide my guilt; I said, "I will confess my wrongdoings to the Lord"; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

And how can they hear without a preacher?  And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How welcome are the feet of those who announce the gospel of good things!

Come and join us this Sunday - find out how you can help spread the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the world!  Everyone is welcome!!!

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP - 10:30 AM

YOUTH CAMP BEGINS ON MONDAY, JULY 26!!!!

Please join us for morning worship and preaching on Sunday morning, July 25th, beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Children's Church will also be available during the preaching.

Pastor Brian Pinson will be presenting the message "The Reality of Eternity!", taken from the Word of God in Luke 16:19-31.  In this passage, Jesus compares the lives, deaths, and eternal destinies of the "rich man" and Lazarus.  One man lived for himself and the other man lived for God.

Just as there is a Heaven for those who die in Christ, there is a Hell for those who reject Him.  Come and hear what the Word of God tells us about Heaven and Hell, and find out how the way we live our lives determines our eternal destiny.  EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!!

SUNDAY - JULY 18 - 10:30 AM SERVICE

Do you have any hurts, hang-ups, or habits that you want to overcome with God's help?  Are you suffering from grief and are having trouble moving on?  Has someone hurt you so badly that you cannot seem to get past it?  Do you have any habits that keep you in chains?  We all have problems and life issues, and God has the answers you need to break free!!

Associate Pastor Craig Ison is preaching a sermon series called "The Road to Recovery", which addresses these personal life challenges.  Craig will be preaching the third message that can guide you to making a new or stronger commitment to following Jesus and applying God's Word to your life.

Sermon 1 - Realize I'm not God.
Sermon 2 - Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.
Sermon 3 - Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control.

We invite you to come join us as we journey on this Road to Recovery together through the power of the Holy Spirit and through the power of God's Word.  As long as we live in this world, we can choose to allow God to continually transform us to be more like Jesus, our Lord and Savior.  Everyone is welcome!!!

SUNDAY, JULY 4 - MORNING SERVICE

Happy Independence Day!!!

July 4th is all about freedom!  Come to our morning worship service, which starts at 10:30 a.m., to join in praising God for the freedoms we have, not only in our country, but also in our relationship with God - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Associate Pastor Craig Ison will be continuing his current sermon series, "The Road to Recovery".  There is not one person alive today who does not have some hurt, habit, or hang-up that he or she needs to bring before God.  This sermon series is based on the Celebrate Recovery life principles, which are based on the Beatitudes in the Word of God.

Last week we learned that the "R" in RECOVERY reminds us to "realize that I'm not God".  We don't have everything in our lives "all together".  Our awesome God  knows everything about our lives, our challenges, our mistakes, our weaknesses ... and He can deliver us through these issues through His will and His guidance - and His great love for us.

This week, the sermon will be on the lesson theme "Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover".  As long as we are in this world, there will be battles we have to face - both great and small - and we will always stand in need before our God.  Join us this Sunday to unravel the second principle in our journey to  develop a closer relationship with God.  Everyone is welcome!!

VBS UPDATE -- DESTINATION DIG 2021

It has been a wonderful week so far -- God has really blessed us all!  The weather is perfect for outside activities, and the kids are really excited to be here!  They are engaged in learning about Jesus and His Word through interactive Bible lessons in each activity and how His Word can be applied to their own lives!  We end each night with praise and worship through songs that focus their attention on Jesus as our Savior.  We have two more evenings this week -- Wednesday and Thursday -- and the the finale on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., where Pastor Brian will be presenting a special message for the kids.  We are praying that as many parents as possible will join us on Sunday so the kids can demonstrate what they have been learning this week.  Everyone is welcome!!!
