WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - SUNDAY, AUGUST 3, 2025

We are so excited to have some special guest speakers with us this Sunday.  Deven and Kara Gurski will be sharing some experiences and their plans for the future to do God's work as missionaries.  Theirs is a family ministry ... however God leads them, they will continue to move forward as a family.  Please join us to hear their testimonies and how God has already begun a work within their hearts for missions.  To God be all the praise and glory for those who are willing to step out in faith, knowing that God will guide and direct their every step.

After the praise/worship part of the service, the children will be dismissed to go to Children's Church.  All are welcome.

WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - SUNDAY, JULY 27, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will be continuing with Part 3 of the sermon "The Christian Bible...IS the Word of God".  This series of messages focuses on the importance of knowing what we believe and where the Scriptures are found to support that belief.  The only way we can know that what we believe is pure and truthful is to study the Holy Word that God gave us and allow the Holy Spirit to give us understanding.  We are not to add to or take away from Scripture, and we are not to follow anyone who preaches any other gospel. 

What we have learned in Parts 1 and 2: "The Nature of Scripture:  The Word of God" and "The Witnesses to Scripture:  Old and New Testament Writers".  This week's sermon focuses specifically upon "The Purpose of Scripture:  Revelation Toward Application".   This week's message reminds us that God did not give us His Holy Word just to fill our heads -- He gave us His Word to change our hearts.  Knowing His Word is not enough ... we have been given His Word so that we can apply it in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit working within us.  (John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 2:14-16)   That's what brings about the transformation!

WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - JULY 20, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will be continuing with Part 2 of the sermon "The Christian Bible...IS the Word of God".  This series of messages focuses on the importance of knowing what we believe and where the Scripture are found to support that belief.  The onlly way we can know that what we believe is pure and truthful is to study the Holy Word that God gave us and allow the Holy Spirit to give us understanding.  We are not to add to or take away from Scripture, and we are not to follow anyone who preaches any other gospel.  The only way for us to be saved is through repentance for our sins, believing that Jesus is the Son of God, accepting His work on the cross to redeem us from our sins, and submitting our will to His in our lives.   His resurrection gives us life!!!  He completed the will of His Father for the redemption of mankind, provided we are willing to accept this wonderful gift.

WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - JULY 6, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will begin a new sermon series.  The first sermon in the series is "The Christian Bible IS the Word of God".   

2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine.  So, when someone asks you "how do you know that the Bible is real and not just some story" ... would you know how to respond?  As Christians, we must know and understand why we believe what we believe!  In a world full of chaos, where our culture has drifted so far from God, we must prepare ourselves to stand up boldly and proclaim the Gospel to a lost and dying world.  If we want to draw closer to God, we have to know more about Who He Is!  God tells us in His Word to study to show ourselves approved...this means not to just skim over the high points that we think are important, but to dive deeper in His Word so that we can KNOW THAT WE KNOW why we believe what we believe.  This sermon will introduce us to the value of having a deeper level of understanding within the Word of God.

UPCOMING SERVICES FOR JUNE 2025

JUNE 15:  Happy Father's Day!!!  Mark Bailey will be delivering a special message during the Worship Service.  The children will be in their Children's Church classes.  Worship, singing, and prayer will be part of the service, all of this to give honor and glory to our faithful God!!

JUNE 22:  There will be a guest preacher for this service to provide God's message to His people.  Children's Church will also be held during the Worship Service.  Pray for God's will to be done in all things, and that everything that is done will bring Him glory and honor.

JUNE 29:   We will have a very special guest preacher for this service.  BJ Grimmett, also known to some as the "Cowboy Preacher", began Circle G Ministry.  At Circle G Ministry, they are all about reaching people with incredible hope and peace found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. As a full-time evangelist, BJ preaches revivals, youth rallys, conferences, and special services. And, in addition to preaching within the traditional church setting, he is a Ken McNabb Certified Master Trainer who loves doing Cowboy Church at rodeos, mounted shootings, horse sales, wagon trains, rides, and any other equine or livestock event.  We are all so excited to hear this dedicated man of God share his testimony and share the words God has given him just for us!!!  There will be a fellowship dinner right after the morning Worship Service.

VBS 2025 FINALE - SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 2025

This Sunday marks the Final Session of our wonderful week of Vacation Bible School!   God's blessings were evident in the faces of all those who attended!  The Moto for this week is "Made to Glorify God" and the Scripture Verse for the week is Psalm 34:3:  "Proclaim the Lord's greatness with me; let us exalt His name together."  Here is an outline of the lessons:

DAY 1 - Topic:  God Sees Me
     Verse:  John 1:23 - But to all who did receive Him, who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
DAY 2 - Topic:  God Cares About Me
     Verse:  Deuteronomy 31:8 - It is the Lord who goes before you.  He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.  Do not fear or be dismayed.
DAY 3 - Topic:  God Loves Me
     Verse:  Romans 5:8 - But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
DAY 4 - Topic:  God Forgives Me
     Verse:  John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

TODAY --  Pastor Craig Ison will present Lesson 5.
Day 5 - Topic:   God Keeps His Promises
     Verse:  Psalm 100:5 - For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.

Our mission was to glorify God in every part of this Vacation Bible School - from beginning to end.  Through His divine intervention, we were able to accomplish this mission by laying "self" aside and pushing through the challenges that we faced, bringing honor and glory to our great God!

A huge thank you to Kathy Medesi and her hard-working Children's Ministry Team, and all of the volunteers along the way who helped to provide the lessons, crafts, food, decorations, recreation for the kids, nursery childcare, audio/visual support, and music and singing this week.   Thank you to those who welcomed the kids and parents each day, those who took pictures, and those who simply stood by ready to help when needed.  Thank you to the Security Team and those who helped keep our facilities safe and clean throughout the week.  Thank you to all those who prayed!!!!!  MOST OF ALL, we want to thank our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for leading and guiding us to spread His precious Holy Word to adults and kids in our church and in our community.  Psalm 48:1 - "Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised."

WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - JUNE 1, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Craig Ison will be delivering a thought-provoking message entitled "KEEPING IN STEP WITH THE SPIRIT", based upon Scriptures found in Galatians 5: 13-26.  God's Holy Word guides us directly on recognizing what are the sins of the flesh that we are to avoid, and the "Fruits of the Spirit" that we are to pursue, when we want to keep in step with the Holy Spirit.  This week will be a focus on the Fruits of the Spirit.   Verse 17 tells us:  "For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do."  If we are following the leading of the Spirit, we will want to honor God by demonstrating the Fruit of the Spirit.  To find out more, please join us this Sunday at 10:30 a.m., in person or online via Facebook, to hear more.  Everyone is welcome!

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will be preaching a message about salvation, based upon John 3:16-17.   There are many misconceptions out there about what it takes to be "saved", so this message will clear up some questions that someone may have regarding God's Salvation Plan.  These two familiar Scripture verses will bring a refreshing to all believers of the simplicity of this Gospel message.  But, it will also serve to help any unbelievers come to realize their need for a Savior, how they can respond to the drawing of the Holy Spirit, and how to pursue God's salvation plan for their lives.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - MAY 11, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will be delivering the message "THE BEAUTY OF A GODLY WOMAN" based from Proverbs 31.  All women, especially Godly Women, have a divine purpose in this life.  This day centers around mothers, but the message isn't limited to only those who are married and have children.  It is important to remember all women who have had a profound influence on your life, particularly those who guided you along in the Christian life.  We urge you to join us this Sunday to hear this beautiful message of love and beauty from the Word of God.  Our service begins at 10:30 a.m., and you can attend in person or online via Facebook.  Invite your friends and family to come with you!!!  It's a day for gathering together and thank God for establishing women of faith as part of not only the human family but also in God's family!!  Have a very blessed day!!

WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 2025

This Sunday, Levi Messer will be delivering the message "JESUS IS EVERYWHERE".   There has never been or ever will be any place that Jesus has been absent.  No matter what the circumstances, we can call on Him and He will hear us.  He is eternal.  This should give every believer such joy, to know that we are never alone.  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have always existed.  Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth as the ultimate Sacrificial Lamb to once and for all pay the sin debt for those who choose to believe in Him.   His blood covers our sin and His resurrection provides for us eternal life with Him.  There is no place you can go that He isn't there ... His light drives the darkness away and turns our sorrows into joy!  The gift of salvation is free ... do you know Him?  More importantly, does He know you?

EASTER SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - APRIL 20, 2025

Please join us this Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ ... the One who willingly gave His life to secure redemption for those who choose to seek Him.  Pastor Brian Pinson will share the message from the Scriptures in Matthew 28:1-8.  The sermon "THE GREAT JOY OF EASTER" will remind us why the resurrection is so very important to our salvation.  On that particular morning, the Lord Jesus Christ ushered in TRUE LASTING JOY!  He promised it would arrive ... and arrive it did!  Those who had seen Him crucified were filled with sorrow and grief ... until they saw Him resurrected from the dead ... just as He had promised them!  They were filled with such unspeakable joy ... the joy that can only come from God!!!  We can have that same joy ... not only in eternity with Christ but it is also a present reality to those who look to Him!

GOOD FRIDAY WORSHIP SERVICE AND COMMUNION - APRIL 18, 2025

Calvary Baptist Church will be holding a special Good Friday service this Friday, April 18.  There will be worship singing, a brief message, and the serving of Communion.  We welcome everyone to join us at 6 p.m. to bring honor and glory to our Savior, Jesus Christ, as we remember the price He paid for our redemption.  Have a very blessed day!

PALM SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - APRIL 13, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will be sharing from the Gospel of John about the importance of Palm Sunday to the Christian.  Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the week referred to as Passion Week  ... the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey.  People were spreading out their robes and palm leaves on the ground before Jesus ... something that they would do for a triumphant king returning from battle.  At the end of that week, He was rejected, alone, beaten, betrayed, and crucified ... all according to the Father's divine plan.  Jesus was the divine sacrifice to pay the sin debt for fallen man.  The Romans did not take His life ... He laid it down willingly to fulfill His Father's plan for our redemption.

WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - MARCH 23, 2025

This week, Pastor Brian will be preaching the third and last sermon in the series "CONTENTMENT IN THE MIDST OF CALAMITY".  The first sermon's focus was on I.  Contentment Comes in "Knowing God Provides", and the second sermon was about the fact that II.  Contentment Comes "Through a Process of Learning".   This week's focus will be III. Contentment Comes "Through God's Power".  We all face trials and calamities in our lives.  God allows us to go through difficult times so our faith and trust in Him will grow and flourish.  In Philippians 4, we see that Paul had reached a point where He could be content and joyful even in the worst of situations because his joy and contentment were in God, not fixed to his circumstances ... but he was able to reach this point only by knowing that God provides, learning through the trials and calamities that God allowed, and specifically through the Power of God that sustained him every single moment.  Paul was able to see beyond his circumstances and focus entirely on what would bring God glory and honor and the fact that he knew that heaven awaited him when his work on earth was accomplished.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 
9   But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.

WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - MARCH 9, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor Brian will begin a new sermon series called "Contentment in the Midst of Calamity".  Philippians 4:10-13 is the text for the messages, which talks about the life of Apostle Paul and how he learned to live above his circumstances and maintain joy and contentment.  In the chaotic world we live in, we can find that same joy and contentment that Paul experienced...only through our Savior, Jesus Christ.  As believers, we must learn to trust God when tragedy, calamity, or catastrophe strikes ... we must have confidence that He is working and positioning everything around us to be in complete harmony of His divine will for our lives.  We may not understand the "why" of these trials, but we can rise above the doubt and claim our trust in Him.  He already knows the end of our story.
