WORSHIP SERVICE AND CHILDREN'S CHURCH - APRIL 14, 2024
This Sunday, Pastor Brian Pinson will continue with the sermon series "LIVING IN LIGHT OF THE LORD'S IMMINENT RETURN", based upon the Scriptures found in 1 Peter 4:7-11. Last week's message focused upon our prayer life, and this week's message will focus on love...our love for God, for fellow Christians, and for a lost and dying world. Our strong prayer life, coupled with a growing knowledge of the Word of God, gives us the strength and ability through the power of the Holy Spirit to draw closer to God and to love others as He has loved us. Romans 5:8-11 demonstrates God's love for us. "...but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."
We are to love as God loves...letting God's light shine through us as we continue to spread the Message of the Gospel to those living in darkness. As the day of the Lord's return draws closer, the darkness will continue to spread in this world, but we are reminded in John 1:4-5, speaking of Jesus, "In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
